Practicing Like A Pro

If a 10-year-old hits 100 yards, it's significant. Dakoda Dowd is a 10-year-old golfer who hits it 200 yards!
Dakoda says, "When you hit a good shot it feels really good and when you hit it far and you outdrive the other girls that's really fun."
With a look at Your Kids, I'm Scott Fais.
Winning golf tournaments is nothing new for 10-year old Dakoda Dowd. At the ripe old age of four, Dakoda picked up a club and started swinging.
Just recently, her dad gave up coaching Dakoda and let personal golf pro, Matt Mitchell take over.
Want to create a future golf pro in your family? Mitchell says good gear for your kids is one thing, while kids who have the desire to play is everything.
Mitchell tells us, "She's got this great gift for the golf clubs. She's got great hand eye skills. She's got love for the game it's easy for her. You don't have to force feed anything to her. She just goes out takes
it and runs with it."
Dakoda has ambition. She has spent time getting tips from the LPGA's Anika Sorenstam, her hero, and Emily Klein.
However, it is Kelly Jo Dowd, Dakoda's Mom, who let the secret out of the bag. Kelly told us, "The more time you have to spend on your golf game the better you're going to get, bottom line."
That is why Dakoda is home schooled. She has time to work on her golf game and her schoolwork.
